Welcome from the Council of Governors

Thank you for your interest in the role of Chair of our Trust or the position of a Non-Executive Director who will Chair our Audit and Risk Committee.  We hope that you enjoy discovering more about the roles, our organisation, our achievements, ambitions and our values and that you will be inspired to come and join us.  These appointments comes at a critical time for the Trust as we welcome Jan Ditheridge as our new Chief Executive in March and as we reinforce our commitment to continuous improvement and to working with our partners to significantly transform services to provide the very best care for our communities.

Sheffield Health and Social Care provide a wide range of specialist mental health, social care, learning disabilities and primary care services to individuals and their carers and families in Sheffield. We are proud of our track record of innovation and successful partnership working with the public and voluntary sectors to deliver integrated health and social care services for the diverse needs of the communities we serve. In these critical Board roles you will provide support and challenge both in improving performance of our internal service delivery and in the development of our integration agenda with partners.  Promoting a strong person-centred culture, you will support the shaping of a future model of health and social care for Sheffield and with influence into the wider South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Integrated Care System.

As Governors of the Trust we are responsible for appointing the Chair and Non-Executive Directors to the Board as well as for holding them to account for how our Board performs. It is our role to represent the interests of members of the Trust as a whole, as well as the views of members of the public. As such we are committed to the continued progress of the organisation and we are interested in hearing from exceptional leaders for these roles who share our passion for improving the wellbeing of the populations we serve. You will share our values of Respect, Compassion, Partnership, Accountability, Fairness and Ambition and support the embedding of a culture where staff, service users, carers and families feel empowered and included.

These are truly exciting opportunities and ones that we hope you will be keen to explore further.  We look forward to meeting you during the process and do encourage you to contact our recruitment partners at GatenbySanderson; Joanna Riley, Emma Pickup or Roz Catlow-Patterson on  0113 2056296 .
